PRE-TRIP INSPECTION

Ok. You've selected your bus, confirmed your routes, and now you are ready to hit the road. Your driver tablet makes it super easy to log your state required safety inspection before leaving the bus lot:

When you've confirmed that your bus number is correct and your routes are selected in the correct sequence, tap the 'CONFIRM' button here to start your pre-trip.

Your pre-trip inspection is broken up into to inspect. Most districts choose to break these up into around 5 zones. These often include:

  • Driver Side
  • Passenger Side
  • Back
  • Air Brakes
  • Front

 

You can tap the 'REPORT A DEFECT' button to specify what is broken/malfunctioning on your bus.

Tap 'NEXT AREA' to inspect the next zone.

ADVANCE TO NEXT AREA

You can tap the flashlight icon on the top right to turn the back-of-tablet light on. This is useful for early morning inspections.

Let's say we found a defect on zone 5, on the front side of the bus that we'd like to report to the mechanics. After tapping 'REPORT DEFECT', we get a list of items to select from.

Tap the screwdriver icon next to headlights to give further details about the defect.

Then you just place a checkmark next to the what the defect is.

Click DONE to proceed to pre-trip summary screen.

You can always go back to a zone to edit or choose another defect on this final summary screen.

EDIT A DEFECT

When every look correct on this summary screen, you can go ahead and tap 'SUBMIT' to continue on.

The important last step in your pre-trip inspection is the enter the correct mileage for each day. You'll type the starting mileage before each route here.

ENTER STARTING MILEAGE

You also need to set an estimate for how much fuel you'll start your route with. Move the slider to the appropriate level.

SET STARTING FUEL

If you submit this report with less than 50%, you'll have to confirm that you'd still like to proceed on route. Your fleet manager will also receive a low-fuel email notification for your bus.
