How SMART tag™ Works
SMART tag™ is a user-friendly system for getting students to and from school safely and efficiently. The most important role in any school transportation is you, the bus driver. Therefore, we've designed SMART tag™ from a driver's perspective first, focusing on how this technology can make your job easier.

DRIVER APP & TABLET
As you pick up and drop off students, information is sent to the cloud and immediately available in the Admin Portal, Campus Portal, and Parent App.

TRANSPORTATION ADMIN PORTAL
As buses begin their routes, transportation staff can see real-time maps and detailed information for every bus, including:
- View live fleet data, including bus speed, locations, and students on board by name.
- Pick-up/drop-off locations for each student.
- Length of time at each bus stop and stops with no student activity.
- On-time status for all buses (ahead, on-time, delayed).
CAMPUS PORTAL
Campus staff have the ability to see transportation information for the students on their campus. They can:
- Review all routes that service the school and view rosters.
- View student profiles, including riding history, medical notes, guardians, and more.
- View the location of each bus in real-time for each route assigned to their school.
- Create a Student Alert so drivers receive important notices about a student getting on their bus.
PARENT APP
The Parent App allows parents/guardians to keep track of their student's riding activity and receive school notifications on the go. Parents/guardians can:
- Receive and customize SMART Alerts push notifications for bus arrival status and student loading/unloading.
- If enabled, view their student's bus on a live map when it's on its way to pick up their student for school and whenever the student is on the bus.
- Receive real-time communication from transportation as a push notification to their mobile device.
